  1. THE HISTORY OF PANCASILA

    Efforts to formulate Pancasila as a state foundation were officially carried out through the first session of BPUPK on May 28-June 1, 1945. The personal proposals put forward in this session were delivered by three figures: Muh. Yamin, Mr. Soepomo, and Ir. Soekarno. The pancasila proposals as the 5 foundations for the life of the nation are:

    In May 29th 1945, Muh. Yamin gave a speech to suggest the five principles. They are:

    NationalityHumanityGodshipDemocracyPeople's welfare

    Muh. Yamin stated that the five principles formulated were rooted based on history, civilization, religion, and longstanding state administration. At the end of his speech, Muh. Yamin submitted an appendix to the draft constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. In the preamble and draft section, there is basic formula of the state is.

    The almighty GodThe nationality of Indonesian unityA sense of fair and civilized humanityThe people who are led by wisdom Social justice for all of Indonesia

    Next, Mr. Soepomo gave a speech in May 31st 1945. His suggestions are:

    The basis of unity and kinshipSubmission to GodDemocracyIn the economic field of the country is familialThe state of Indonesia is Great East Asia

    The last one, Ir. Soekarno also gave a speech in the first day of June:

    The formula from Ir. Soekarno became the basis of Pancasila.
